Mac & Cheese with Prosciutto and Peas
This dish is quick to prepare, but adds a touch of class to your mac & cheese.
Servings: 3 people
Ingredients
- 1 box macaroni & cheese
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1/3 c. frozen peas
- 2 tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 tbsp. dry white wine
- 1/3 c. half & half
- 2 oz. prosciutto, cut in matchstick slices
- Salt and pepper
- 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- » Prepare macaroni & cheese with milk and margarine according to directions on the box, or use your favorite variation.» While the macaroni is cooking, sauté the peas in a small skillet with butter or margarine and white wine for 2-3 minutes.» Add half & half and prosciutto to skillet, and simmer 3 minutes.» When macaroni is prepared, stir peas and prosciutto mixture into macaroni.» Season with salt and pepper to taste.» Serve macaroni and sprinkle with Parmesan.
